NEW ZEALAND FLU

In the early of 21st century the bird flu (H5N1) has revived the memory of December and November 1918 lethal flu. In two months New Zealand lost the half of people than the 1st World War. In other cases never died many people in few time.
Many people believed in the flu come with a mortal virus, aboard the line Royal Mail of Niagara in 12th October. The pandemic produced 8600 dead only in December. Maori dead suffered 2160 dead; other communities didn’t suffer many dead. The only place affected heavily is in military camps.
Late in 1918 a ship came into Wellington Harbour in New Zealand. Some passengers had flu and the flu spread across the country. Seven times as many Maoris died as white New Zealanders, this was because they were not immune. In 1997 scientist found some 1918 virus. It was frozen in the bodies of the Inuit people of Alaska. They were using modern technology to find out why it was so deadly.
